Memorial Northwest Homeowners' Association Click Buttons on Right for other committees Click Here for Contact Information The Long Term Planning Committee is a group of Memorial Northwest Subdivision members who have volunteered to work a lot of hours for free to produce a comprehensive plan that will fulfill the needs and desires of members and potentially increase property values. The following brief biographies will give you an idea about their abilities, skills and motivation to work on this project. Mick Mikuenski, Chairperson Mick
Mikuenski has been a MNW resident since September 1995 and joined the committee
in the spring of 2006. Mick has been married to Vicky Mikuenski for 21 years
and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in January 2006. He
retired from Airways Facility Service at the Houston Air Route Traffic Control
Center as a National Airspace Operations Manager after nearly 48 years of
government service. During his career he has been involved in numerous
national, regional and local projects to design and implement new aviation
systems. Lee Cooley As a Design Engineer for over 20 years Lee brings many years of commercial design experience to the committee. Having moved to Texas just short of 5 years ago, the Klein Independent School District is what first attracted him to Spring. Being a stepfather to two school age children, there were many factors involved in choosing an area to reside. Lee says "My family enjoys the Community Center and pool, but it really needs to be upgraded and modernized to suit the needs of the current residents of MNW and to attract future residents. I am very eager to observe the metamorphosis of the Community Center." Lee is currently a Design Engineer for Trussway, LTD.
Paxton Lamons Paxton Lamons has been a resident of MNW for just over 1 year and has been a member of the committee since early 2006. He is an IT Manager for Stewart Transaction Solutions. Having recently purchased a home in MNW, he and his wife (Stacy) are both fully aware of the impact that attractive and functional facilities can make in one's buying decision. The assortment of activities available in the area for their young daughter was one of the most important factors in purchasing a home in this neighborhood. Paxton says, "We really feel like the home buyers in this neighborhood will be young families looking for a larger home. Our neighborhood is competing with many newer ones that have beautiful, modern and functional clubhouses that are attractive to these buyers. It excites me to be part of a committee that will have a hand in designing a great facility that will be highly regarded by a potential home buyer as well as serve our neighborhood's needs well for decades to come. We have a great team of people working on this and I can't wait to see our efforts come to fruition!” Robin Smith Robin Smith, 21-year resident of MNW, joined the committee mid-2006 bringing another perspective to the team. While she and husband, David (a former area director) are not regular users of the club, their son, Chad, takes advantage of the fitness area when he is in town because there is 24-hour access. They are both convinced that redevelopment of the site should be a priority for the neighborhood. She says, "The committee is very focused and the momentum is strong. Our clear goal is to develop a sports/recreational/event facility that is cost-effective, energy-efficient, well planned and multi-functional. At the same time, we want an aesthetically attractive venue that will make MNW competitive with master-planned communities nearby making our subdivision the "hot ticket" for new home buyers!" Currently, Robin is a communications consultant at Chevron, and is looking forward to using the new facility. Lynne Sanders Lynne Sanders has been a MNW resident for 11 years
and joined the committee in the spring of 2006. She has been married to husband
Jim Sanders for 15 years and they have two elementary age boys, August and
Grayson. Before retiring to be a stay at home mom, Lynne worked in advertising
& marketing employed by local publications such as The Houston Business
Journal. Her national advertising & marketing experience includes publications
such as Time, Newsweek, Business Week, Fortune, InStyle, Country Living and
House Beautiful to name a few. Lynne is
involved with the MNW Marlin Swim Club and currently serving her 3rd year as a
board member. She is a past Theiss Elementary PTO board member and continues to
volunteer for the PTO for her 6th consecutive year. She is a member of Lakewood
United Methodist Church and has been responsible for their summer Vacation
Bible School Elementary Art program for the past 3 years. Steve Upham |
